Reassigning a project to myself; Can't continue the task

I reassigned a project to myself so that I could complete the task. When I client continue, I see a yellow/orange/red toast that says, "Task updated by Scriptoria" and I can't do the continue task. I had to refresh the browser to get it to allow me to continue.
