Curtain with Battery

Hi

I use your Home Assistant HACS integration. Its amazing being able to automate our blinds based on schedule and open just before morning alarms.
One thing I'm really hoping to achieve is automate the charging of the battery.

I have 2 Versa Drapery Curtains - C motor code with Batteries.
As part of my troubleshooting I started looking over the code to understand how it all worked and have noticed that only D, d and U motor types of motor are expected to have batteries and produce a %.

To confirm here is the output of the hubtest.py

Looking above you can see the voltage is found but no % is returned. The battery is marked as 14.5v. Im currently changing the battery to see what the maximum voltage is.

Would it be possible to include C motor type in expected motor types to have batteries? Is there anything else I can do to assist?

Looks like a new one I've not seen before.

Adding in the new C type is no problem, however the biggest and most annoying part is the formula from voltage to %.

The best way to do this is to let one of the motors run right down to flat (or at least until it starts beeping), and then run hubtest.py (like you have done), and take note of the reported voltage, and then record the % charge it says in the app.

Next start charging it again, and regularly take note of the voltage and % until it gets back to 100% (you may need to unplug it to do this). Once that's done we can put in a formula to correlate the % with the voltage and add that in (as the current one is for a 12v battery, not your one which appears to be higher voltage).

With that it's then easy to update the code with the above (and I'll do a corresponding release for the HACS extension).

I charged one up last night to get the full voltage / % and I'll let the other run down till it beeps.
I'll get a spreadsheet going of voltage vs app %.

Currently I have:
16.5v = 100%
14.7v = 56%

May take me a while to run one down but Ill keep you posted. At what interval is to best to record %/voltage?

I'm not sure the best, obviously the more the better, but I think the 2 extremes (near 0-5% and 95-100%) and about 20% increments in between should be plenty. It's always an estimate to match their formula, so roughly should be OK so long as we know when it's "low" and "high" I think.

Hi, just touching base - I haven't forgotten about this I am still monitoring. It appears these batteries are pretty chucky and last quite a long time.
I'm currently at 13.8v but unfortunately the app is no longer showing percentages, it still has a green bar about halfway through.
Hopefully not much longer till I have a near empty / low value for you.

The curtains finally beeped and the apps showing the battery on red. The voltage is 13.3v.
