Use case: Sometimes I create a variant of a feature branch to compare to approaches and want to use a similar name.

Currently, on Ubuntu 24.10, the base branch name is displayed but is neither selectable nor can it be copied.

These would all be possible solutions:

  1. Allow the base branch name to be (partially) selectable with the mouse like it was an editable text field.
  2. Add a copy icon at the end of the branch name in order to paste it into the new branch name field
  3. Add an icon, which directly pastes the base branch name into the new branch name field
