Hi!
This is my firs pull request, so sorry if anything is wrong.
First I've merged changes made by @kreed for proper background and error handling.
Then i've added removing of non existant mods saved from previous launch, becouse the caused segv.
It's grat that you made this tool and packaged it. Unfortunatly i lack knowladge how to package it.
