Describe your proposal
Having a dedicated, accessible (a11y), easy to maintain public facing site for volunteer application and information.
Moving the volunteer information from markdown here in GitHub to a very vanilla html, css, and Astro. No other frameworks. Vanilla css.
Why is this proposal important?
Vital for volunteer management best practices, recruiting volunteers, and recognizing volunteers.
Who will benefit from this proposal?
Everyone!
Volunteers will have an easy to access reference. Organizers can focus on their portfolio and program specific training
When will this happen?
Start in July.
Deadline Labour Day weekend.

Describe the technical details of the proposal
Design in Figma first
Astro, vanilla css, multipage, using pages/markdown docs like blog posts.
eventually three themes: dark, light, high contrast/large print.
very easy to maintain. Astro has great documentation.
Mobile first.
Make sure to test on iPhone Safari! (This is the most common combination for low vision and blind users, and the least likely for devs to test on - WebAIM Screen Reader Survey #10 )
Volunteer management team + designers and frontend devs + a11y specialists.
