Investigate upgrade to Qt 6.5.x for WASM and desktop builds

Investigate an upgrade to Qt 6.5.x.

For starters, just build/verify on Qt for WebAssembly and desktop. Device builds will be done separately.

Qt 6.5 requires Emscripten 3.1.25. See https://doc.qt.io/qt-6/wasm.html

gui-v2 seems to work nicely when build with Qt for WebAssembly 6.5.2 (wasm_singlethread). I built on Windows 11.
I did have to fix some path issues in the cmake config.

Instructions:

Install Qt 6.5.2 wasm_singlethread

Install Qt 6.5.2 wasm_singlethread via the Qt Maintenance Tool, then fix some escaping issues in its cmake config files:

vim c:\Development\Qt\6.5.2\wasm_singlethread\lib\cmake\Qt6BuildInternals\QtBuildInternalsExtra.cmake

Edit lines 45 and 46, double-backspacing the paths. i.e. change:

    set(qtbi_orig_prefix "C:\Development\Qt")
    set(qtbi_orig_staging_prefix "C:\Development\Qt\6.5.2\wasm_singlethread")

to:

    set(qtbi_orig_prefix "C:\\Development\\Qt")
    set(qtbi_orig_staging_prefix "C:\\Development\\Qt\\6.5.2\\wasm_singlethread")

Install and activate emsdk 3.1.25

Build QtMqtt 6.5.2 and install

Build gui-v2 with QtCreator

Select the Qt 6.5.2 wasm_singlethread configuration, and build.

QTBUG-116557 is unfortunately a showstopper for using Qt 6.5.2 so we may have to wait for 6.5.3 or 6.5.4.

Meanwhile, we’re using 6.5.2 for the WASM builds on Venus OS releases.

The is only one open issue: physical keyboard doesnt work on a browser on desktop. And virtual one doesnt show.

this is solved upstream, but not yet available in a Qt 6.5 release. The most recent one (end of september) was 6.5.3 and also doesnt include. We expect it in 6.5.4, for which there is no date yet, but going at previous cadence it will be two months.

meanwhile this will be listed as known issue for the venus os beta builds.

Daniel tested a patched 6.5.3 Qt, and that fixes the issue. If Dirk-Jan has some spare time, he’ll see if we can get that in CI. However: not important at all, just waiting for 6.5.4 is less work.

As discussed on Slack, Qt 6.5.4 is closed/commercial only, so we actually need to upgrade to Qt 6.6.x.
The builds are already using Qt 6.5.x, so closing this task as DONE.
