Regrets:
- Per email, We’ll spend some time on some material ACT sent us, then the usual agenda.
- Our work was an agenda item on Tuesday AG call. Everything copasetic.
- Updated Reflow still moving through publishing steps.
- At start of call, we have 11 items in Ready for Review column, which is plenty.
Group asked to review Rule 2ee8b8 ("Visible label is part of accessible name"): introducing a new "label in name algorithm". #2075. Preview link and DIFF are available.
Question asked why copy/paste of algorithm name rather than reference? Is it necessary to pull in so much of the Accessible Name calculation? It is part of calculation for inner text.
Please review and we will have on agenda for next week. See reference for accessible name calculation.
Ken created a placeholder issue for our comments, since ACT is using different repo under a different org name
Group discussed Stacked SC: SC 1.4.4: Resize text AND 1.4.3: Contrast Do they have an interrelationship? #1522 conversation. Before closing, we need a volunteer to draft PR. Moved to To Do pending drafting.
[Update redundant-entry.html #4282](../pull/4282 addresses issue identified earlier (and since closed). Changes in brief, What to do from "Don't ask for the same information twice in the same session" to "Don't ask for the same information twice in the same activity. Moved to Ready for Review.
Replace f4 and f47 #4166 replaces two failures and warrants closer review. Already Sent for WG approval and warrants some close review by TF members.
4276 is updating formatting presentation of Figure images and caption. WAI team preferred an horizontal rule over the vertical rule. On call, we agreed with tightening up vertical white space, but do not like the horizontal rule as that implies a section break. Patrick will tweak the vertical rule to still provide an indent but less of a visual marker.
Migrate Reflow videos out of repository #4308 moves animations to better and more stable location. Preview link in OP is using Cloud Flare (instead of YouTube, or GitHub), a perfectly sensible choice. Labeled as Bug Fix and moved to Ready for approval.
Patrick recently finished drafting Tweak G13, on-input understanding, F37 #4291. He will doublecheck his work one more time, but we need someone to review for group. Left as Drafted.
Group discussed Alternatives match language #4262 following up from a few weeks ago. Edits are straightforward. Patrick reviewed and approved earlier today. Moved to Ready for Review.
Update audio-control.html #4295 clarifies that conferencing is okay. Moved to _Ready for Approval.
Add outline to low-contrast star icons in ARIA icon font working example #4293 adds a border to star illustrations. Moved to Ready for Approval.
Update related resource section in Understanding SC 3.2.5 (superseded RFC) #4302 Updates to replaces RFC 2616 with RFC 9110. Current link hits strong superseded warning. Moved to Ready for Approval.
Is it possible to turn on a platform's 'increase contrast' mode when testing WCAG SC 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum)? #4290 is Response-Only. Recent reply clarifies that OP is about OS setting. Reply needs updating, but response is substantially the same. Windows High Contrast mode overrides everything, whereas iOS filter is a little more sublet. From WCAG perspective, issue is out of scope. This could be a consideration under WCAG2MOBILE or WCAG2ICT. Regardless, the OS feature would not help the author pass the SC. Alastair will update his proposed response. Stays as Drafted.
Bruce will review PR Tweak understanding for 1.2.3 and 1.2.5 #1790 and related issue How to add audio descriptions to videos? #1768 to confirm that new audio ducking technique is all that is missing to close this issue.
Update resource links in images of text #4311 recently finished and needs a review. Stays in Drafted for now.
Updated Reflow understanding doc #4055 is merged and scheduled to publish and go live next Thursday (4/4). Meanwhile, Scott has also resolved a number of related issues and discussions. The use of Cloud Flare (mentioned above) is also incorporated with that publication. See Migrate Reflow videos out of repository #4308. The deploy preview is available.
