Structural Invariants

Francesco Maiomascio edited this page Jan 19, 2026 · 1 revision

Structural invariants are derived from axioms.

They must remain true across:

  • versions
  • scale
  • distribution
  • architectural change

A system may continue running while violating them, but it is no longer ICE-compliant.

I-001 — Traceability

Every meaningful transition must be attributable to an explicit cause under defined authority.

Silent evolution is forbidden.

I-002 — Determinism and Reproducibility

At the level where decisions are validated and committed, system behavior must be reproducible.

Determinism is scoped, not global.

I-003 — Governance

Authority, responsibility, and enforcement must remain structurally preserved over time.

Governance is not a policy layer. It is an invariant.

I-004 — Cognitive Reconfiguration

Cognitive structure may be reconfigured.

Reconfiguration must:

  • remain traceable
  • preserve authority
  • respect invariants

Adaptation must never erase accountability.
