Can't seem to detect "S02" in the title (MPRIS)

I was using fairly straight forward naming convention

Anime name SxxExx - Episode title

In my case,

Re:Zero S02E01 - Each One's Promise

but somehow it doesn't get detected (season 1 got detected just fine) and instead it sees it as the first season

I also tried adding Re:Zero and Re:Zero S02 to the alternate name to the second season but no luck. It still think it's the first season.

Also, I would love if there's a Discussion tab in this repo so I don't have to make a new issue just for something like this

The altname you need to set is "Re:Zero 2", as indicated by the text before the {…} dict. Note that this only applies to the AnimeInfoExtractor title parser. If you are using anitopy (currently only configurable via the settings file and requires an additional Python dependency), it would use "Re:Zero Season 2".

As for the discussion tab, I agree that it would be helpful, but this is something @z411 needs to configure.

And does anitopy uses anime-relation from Taiga? If that's the case, it would be nice since Re:Zero S2 split into 2 cour but the naming is still under S02

Also, kind of out of topic here but, is there a way we can see log of current running trackma (gui)? Everytime I want to see the log I have to (which I don't mind really, but it would be nice if there's a way to see it from the gui) open up the cli and see what's the log are outputting

Yes, we have an "experimental" anitopy integration that I've personally been using since it was added (so for 1.5 years, #663). It still has a few rough and known edges, though, and is not configurable from any UI. Note that the default AnimeInfoExtractor also correctly recognizes the show but it uses a different format to represent the fact that it's the second season, which is then matched to season one instead.

Yes, anime-relations is used with both parsers because it is done as a separate step.

No, currently not, though I definitely agree that this would be a useful feature. Feel free to create an issue for it.

Personally I just use the CLI, primarily because I want to see the detailed logs and because I like being able to use my keyboard, but you can also launch the GUIs from a terminal with the debug option.

I always wanted to do this but never got around to it. I might get to work on it in the next couple days.

It definitely seems to be more consistent, but it has been a while since I did a comparison. Besides a few exceptions related to fractional episode numbers (e.g. 12.5, which anitopy completely chokes on), I haven't had any mismatches so far at least and I believe that especially the handling of parentheses and brackets is better with anitopy. It also has better/proper handling of matching special videos like "OP" or "NCED", but trackma doesn't know what to do with these yet and it's been somewhere in my backlog of todo items.

It should be noted that there hasn't been much activity on anitopy's side lately, so we may need to create a fork if we want to fix some of its issues and get them delivered.

Anyway, that's pretty off-topic here. If we want to discuss standardization (or configurability) of anitopy, it should be in a separate issue.
