The recent batch of refactoring (#703, #704, #707, #708, #709, #710, #713, #714) has broken a few things all over the code (mostly imports & class references).

This PR should fix it all to the extent the tests do pass.

The following PR #723 should make it nice.

Supersedes #719 & #721.
