Thanks for your work on this!

Unfortunately, as outlined in the associated issue, we've decided not to accept further work done to the Editor component as it will be handled by this summer's pr05 project, which will be upgrading CodeMirror. I'm really sorry that we couldn't get this in, but please feel free to check out some of our other issues!
