We have quite a few votes, but I will leave it up for 24 more hours so anyone who has not yet voted can. After that I will post a follow up doodle with times on the most popular days. |
Ok, I summed up the results and we will choose from times on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Here is the poll for the specific time. Ignore the date in the poll, I used this week, but the meeting will probably be two weeks out from now. I will leave this poll open at least until Sunday, please vote before then. The Poll: https://doodle.com/poll/4u8s2pfbvbp5nfv2 PS. I was able to map all people who voted to usernames except "Anto Aravinth". In this poll can you all use your github username? I know I started it, but I didn't expect to see a name which was un-mappable to a user in the team :) cc: @nodejs/web-server-frameworks |
The most popular times were the following (all listed in PST):
One thing I want us all to conscious of, not that everyone is not important, but having representation from the leadership of the top frameworks is important. With these times we have a conflict few conflicts: @dougwilson (Express team) cannot attend Monday or Friday times Also, it would be great if @jasnell could vote as he is very important in our discussions of how the http api's in node core can evolve. With this in mind, I will leave it open for a bit more to see if we get some more votes or if @mcollina or @dougwilson want to edit their responses. Also, if there is a specific time someone would like to suggest which does not conflict with anything from the Node or OpenJS calendars I can add it. Sorry for the indecisiveness here, I just want to make sure we dont pick times which mean we exclude some of the most important stake holders on this team 😄 📆 |
Yea, it is unfortunate, but ultimately I just cannot randomly disappear during work hours for non-business things like open source meetings :( I would need to schedule and use accrued PTO time in order to attend during working hours. My Thursday working hours one was just "if necessary" since we have "IC time" on Thursdays that I can "sneak" out to attend the meeting, to be fully transparent here, if that helps in any way. |
Totally understandable (I won't ever understand some employers policies, but that is hardly your fault), I only mentioned it so that folks were aware of the conflict in case there was a way to resolve it. Would it possibly help to add a 7am PST option? Also we could alternate between one of the times we voted on here and an earlier one. Also if we can get just one scheduled where everyone can show we can discuss the future meeting schedule plans. |
regarding #9 (comment) , Anto Arvainth is @antsmartian . If I read the doodle correctly, there is no single hour that works for India Standard Time (the whole list is spanning 11.30 PM to 6.30 AM IST). Request to add a few so that I am able to select at least one. To help progress this better and faster, here is my available band: 10 AM to 10 PM any day! |
I cannot do meeting that stats between 9am to 7pm CET between Monday to Thursday, and I have an hard stop at 8pm. @delvedor might have different hours. |
Agreed with @gireeshpunathil. If we plan to keep atleast one meeting on an Indian timing(per month or on a rotational basis) that would be really great help! @wesleytodd Sorry my mistake, Anto Aravinth is me. Will use GitHub name hereafter. |
Sorry about that, I was going off of the time ranges which the other node meetings were scheduled. Looks like I got that a bit wrong. That said, I really do think that we will need to alternate moving forward.
You are not the only one, just the only one which I did not see a clear association with because you dont have your full name on your github profile :) So, realizing that scheduling across timezones is hard, how would we all feel about setting the first meeting at 7AM PST on Jan 24th. This would be the hardest on the folks from the US west coast and India, but is at least within reason for both. If everyone can make that meeting, we will set a tight schedule for the agenda to include agreeing to an alternating schedule so that everyone can attend at least on time. |
@wesleytodd that sounds good to me. If we can ideally get confirmation by sometime tomorrow that we are going to use that time on the 24th for sure, I will put in a time off request at my work place so I can be sure to attend. |
I won’t be able to join because I have a conflicting meeting I cannot move for that week. @delvedor will be there to represent Fastify. |
Sound good to me 👍 |
Ok, I will setup the meeting issue later today! From there we can get an alternating schedule so that everyone can attend at least one time a month. |
@wesleytodd can this be closed? |
The first step for scheduling the meeting will be picking a day. Can everyone reference their schedule and the following calendars when voting?
The poll: https://doodle.com/poll/aknz3yhemgy5mis3
Note: you can vote yes with a single click and "yes, if necessary" by clicking twice. Vote for as many days as you are available for.
